Man United could look to poach N’Golo Kante from Chelsea this summer.
Manchester United’s displays in 2021/22 are the worst I’ve seen in my lifetime from an effort standpoint. To be brutally honest, not many of those lads looked fit enough to wear the shirt.
As fans, desire and giving 100% is all we ask for. The fact that the lads didn’t even do that was massively disappointing.
An attitude change in the dressing room has to be the first adjustment, while several fresh faces coming in will no doubt help in that regard.
Today, a familiar name has been thrown into the mix; N’Golo Kante. United have been linked with a move for the Chelsea man before, but today’s update comes from a top tier source.
It’s Laurie Whitwell and the Athletic with the scoop. They state that United are considering a move for the 31-year-old, who could be available at a reduced price.
That’s because Kante has a contract that’s expiring in twelve months, coupled with Thomas Tuchel’s desire to freshen up Chelsea’s midfield over this summer.
The article also goes on to explain that Erik ten Hag wants to sort out United’s midfield before moving onto other positions.
There’s no doubt Kante would be an astute signing if the club could somehow pull this move off. The Frenchman brings experience, a winning mentality and a sheer desire to win.
His time at Chelsea has been glittered with trophies. Kante has always played brilliantly against us over the years, too. I’d much prefer to see him wearing our colours next season!
I guess the one potential knock on this move is the fact that Kante, at 31, isn’t getting any younger. He’d only be able to give us perhaps a couple of years at the top level before the decline will start to set in.
