Insider claims Newcastle want to sign West Ham ace Declan Rice

Newcastle United are allegedly keen to sign West Ham United midfield star Declan Rice in the summer of 2023.

That’s according to a report from club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that Newcastle view Dec as the cornerstone of their project for the future.

Let’s be honest here, losing Declan Rice will be an absolute killer for West Ham United.

And with Newcastle’s new-found wealth, there is every chance that they could tempt him to St James’ Park, especially if they qualify for the Champions League this season.

Rice is so important to everything good that the Hammers do. David Moyes will be absolutely desperate to keep the 34-capped England international at the London Stadium beyond the end of this season.

It’s clear that the Scot will have his work cut-out if he is to do that though…

Claret and Hugh reckon that Magpies boss Eddie Howe views Rice as the perfect summer addition to his squad.

Newcastle will have to spend big if they really want the 23-year-old midfielder though.

The West Ham owners will allegedly demand a whopping £150 million for the England international.

If Newcastle are prepared to pay that kind of money for Rice though, the Hammers could have a real problem.

It will be vital for the West Ham owners to continue to back Moyes financially, if we are to have any chance of keeping the 23-year-old.

And it goes without saying that Moyes needs to turn things around on the pitch.

Even the most ardent of Hammers fans will understand that one day the time will come when Rice has to leave the London Stadium in order to achieve his ambitions.

That doesn’t mean that it will be any easier to accept if Declan Rice leaves West Ham for Newcastle next summer though.

Let’s just keep everything crossed that it doesn’t happen.
