Heading into their critical showdown with Leicester City on Sunday, injuries are impacting Tottenham, leaving few choices, as reflected in our Spurss’ projected XI.

The news on the injury front has not been great this week for Tottenham Hotspur. First, news came out that Oliver Skipp had surgery and will be out for the rest of the season. Then on Friday, during his pre-match presser, coach Antonio Conte shared that Sergio Reguilon will miss out on Spurs’ Sunday showdown with the Foxes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With limited choices but three points needed, here are the XI Spurs Conte will start.

Spurs projected starting forwards

Although there are problems at wing-back, it is improbable that Conte chooses a formation change to address the issue. Given the Italian gaffer said he planned to stick with what they know in his presser, we should expect to see a familiar front three.

Left-forward – Heung-Min Son

After six goals in the space of three games and helping to see Spurs climb briefly into fourth place, forward Heung-Min Son, like all of Tottenham’s offense, has come back to earth. Son has not played particularly poorly; however, his opportunities have been limited with two shots in his last two games. For Spurs to push for the top four, Son needs to get back on song.

Centre-forward – Harry Kane

If Son is to get back to top form, it will likely be because he again sees balls from Harry Kane. Like Son, Kane has not seen enough of the ball over the last two weeks as Brighton and Brentford marked Kane across the park. Whether it is dropping deep to find space or finishing in the box, Spurs need Harry to be Kane.

Right-forward – Dejan Kulusevski

Like his attacking partners, Dejan Kulusevski has not been at his best in the last two matches. A physical player, Deki has taken a bit more than he has given the last couple of weeks as he has gotten roughed up a bit. With Leicester a bit less capable of doing that the same, we should expect to see Kulusevski back to his best.
