Manchester United are reportedly eyeing January moves for two West Ham transfer targets – Jonathan David of Lille and Barcelona ace Memphis Depay.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg who claims that both the Canada and Holland internationals are on the radar of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
West Ham manager David Moyes is keen to bring Depay to the London Stadium (The Guardian).
It seems as though Manchester United could represent a big problem for us in the January transfer window though…
Manchester United eye January swoops for West Ham targets
Ten Hag may well be a really disruptive influence to Moyes’s January transfer window plans.
Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Man United could move for either Jonathan David or Memphis Depay…or both!
And the German reporter claims that the pair would cost just €50 million (£43 million) between them in January, with Barca ready to terminate Depay’s contract:
Losing out on both forwards would be a big blow for West Ham in January.
Moyes finally ended his long search for a striker in the summer when he signed Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.
It could be argued that the Scot needs to add at least one more forward to his ranks at the London Stadium though.
And either Depay or David would have been exceptional additions for the Hammers.
If Manchester United come in for either the Lille or the Barcelona stars in January though, it will be back to the drawing board for West Ham and Moyes.
