Harry Maguire will move clubs, according to pundit, Ally McCoist.

Manchester United have been captained by Harry Maguire for the best part of a few years now, with the Englishman signed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Since then, I think it’s fair to say Maguire has gone through some rough patches. Form dipped dramatically last term, leading to Erik ten Hag opting to bring in Lisandro Martinez upon his arrival as manager.

Now, Martinez has usurped the club captain at the heart of defence, partnering Raphael Varane. Maguire has often been out in the cold – no doubt he’s not loving life on the bench right now.

Well, according to one pundit, Maguire ‘isn’t going to hang around’ as he wants to play football. Ally McCoist, arguably the best commentator over in Qatar, believes the 29-year-old United star ‘will move’ clubs at some point soon.

Check out what McCoist had to say on Maguire here:

“I think he will move.” McCoist said live on talkSPORT.

“I don’t think he may move, I’ll go one further – I think he WILL move.

“He isn’t going to hang around – he wants to play.

“I don’t think there are any guarantees that he’s going to march back into the Manchester United team, not in front of Varane and Martinez.”

McCoist went on to state that Tottenham Hotspur would be a good destination for the ex-Leicester City man. I could absolutely see that happening as he fits nicely into Antonio Conte’s style of play.

The knock on Maguire these days is that he’s not the ideal fit for Ten Hag’s high defensive line due to his lack of pace. Nobody is stating he’s a bad player – far from it in fact.

Just look at how well he played for England over in Qatar. Maguire was amongst the best centre-backs in the tournament and he should be recognised as such.

It does seem as though his time at this club is winding down to a close, though. You can’t have your club captain sitting on the bench and selling him may well be easier than stripping him of the armband.
