Harry Maguire has laughed off any transfer speculation, with the player set to stay at Man United this month.

Manchester United Football Club are already undergoing change under Erik ten Hag, albeit the process will take time to complete.

Slowly but surely, the Dutchman is implementing his tactics and ideas on this squad. It has been fun to watch.

Defensively, the team are playing miles better. Not just as individuals, but also as a collective unit. The major casualty in the starting line-up as a result of those changes is Harry Maguire.

The club captain has found himself on the bench more often than not. That’s probably less than ideal for his overall confidence levels.

Yesterday, a rumour surfaced suggesting that Harry Maguire was all set to move to Aston Villa. Photos of Maguire having dinner in Birmingham quickly followed on social media.

Well, that’s all untrue, according to the Manchester Evening News. In fact, the 29-year-old United star is actually expected to stay at the club this month.

Sources close to Maguire are said to have found the transfer speculation surrounding his future as ‘laughable’, whereas Maguire actually went to the Belfry this weekend to play golf.

It’s also claimed that although Maguire has indeed fallen down the pecking order, Ten Hag wants the Englishman to remain at the club until at least the end of the season.

I genuinely think it’d be unwise to let him leave right now. There are still games to be won and one injury could mean Maguire is right back in the side. If he’s sold this month, it’d leave United a man light in a key area.

In the long run, though, I fully expect Maguire to be sold by the club.
