Harry Maguire has been speaking highly of his Manchester United and England teammate, Marcus Rashford.
It’s fair to say that Manchester United stars are having a brilliant World Cup so far. Some may say that’s the Erik ten Hag effect.
The Old Trafford club have players shining on the highest stage. Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford are the pick of the bunch right now.
The latter scored two goals against rivals Wales to secure England’s place in the last sixteen while dumping out their fellow UK country. He was absolutely sensational in that game.
Now, his teammate has labelled the United star a ‘fantastic talent’, while admitting that it was ‘only a matter of time’ before Rashford rediscovered his best form. It’s hard to disagree at this point in time. Rashford has been nothing short of sensational.

“I speak to him a lot and I try to give him as much belief as I can. But listen, Marcus is a fantastic player who has had a great career up until now. I think this last year has been difficult for him, but all good players rise to the top again,” Maguire said, per the Daily Star.
“I am close to Marcus, a good mate of his on and off the field, the main thing was trying to get the belief back in his game. Marcus is a fantastic talent and you see it day in day out when you train with him.
“It was only a matter of time until he got his confidence and form back. A career is a long time, over 15 years, there will be a lot of ups and downs. You’ve got to bounce back if you want to be successful and he’s done that.”
More than anything, I’m just delighted for Rashford. The Englishman has come in for criticism from all corners over the last twelve months – some of it deserved, most of it largely over the top.
Ten Hag’s arrival at the club has absolutely helped Rashford rediscover that hunger, confidence and self-belief. It has been an absolute pleasure watching him perform at such a high level this term.
What’s crazy is that I still genuinely think Rashford can ramp it up at least another gear or two before he’s at his peak. Another year or so with Ten Hag at the helm and I really do reckon the Englishman could be amongst the best players in the world.
Praise like this, from his teammates, can only spur Rashford on even more. You absolutely love to see it.
