Harry Kane reveals why Tottenham Hotspur up their game when faced with adversity

According to The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has opened up on how his side finds a second wind when pushed up against the wall.

Often associated with bottling opportunities, Tottenham appear to be a different team under Antonio Conte. The same was clear when Spurs came back from two goals down to secure a 302 win at the weekend away to Bournemouth.

Doing so at the Vitality Stadium is no mean feat and it showed exceptional resilience from Tottenham. Kane has now revealed what is it that makes the side click when they are tested.

Tottenham have conceded first in their last three games. While they have refused to die down, it is not a trend that the club should be keen on continuing. Kane believes being pushed against the wall gives the team the freedom to express themselves without fear.

“I think when the players are free and we have nothing to lose, we play better – we get more people forward and keep the pressure on in the opposition half.”

The English skipper goes on to add that another factor that is aiding Tottenham’s never say die attitude is their physical prowess. Getting players into shape was one of Conte’s primary focuses after arriving in London and it is now making a difference.

“Fitness-wise we are very strong, which could explain why we often finish games strongly.”

The comeback at The Vitality Stadium will have given Tottenham a renewed sense of justice following their stoppage time frustrations against Sporting CP. All eyes will now be on the Champions League encounter this week against Olympique Marseille.
