News emerged yesterday that Nayef Aguerd has undergone successful surgery after the ankle injury he sustained when playing for West Ham against Rangers last week.

It was a huge blow for David Moyes, the Hammers fans and the player himself of course.

Aguerd moved to the London Stadium from Rennes for around £30 million back in June (Fabrizio Romano).

The Morocco international recently shared how he didn’t have to think twice about moving to the London Stadium.

It’s just so typical that his West Ham career has been halted before it even got off the ground. He could potentially be out for a few months now.

With Craig Dawson out injured, Angelo Ogbonna nowhere near match fit and Issa Diop being heavily linked with a move to Fulham (Foot Mercato), David Moyes may well be keen to bring another top-class centre-back to the London Stadium this summer…

We believe that Moyes could revisit a move to sign the Fiorentina centre-back.

The 24-year-old signed a new deal with La Viola last year and is under contract with the Serie A club until the summer of 2023.

Moyes desperately tried to bring Milenkovic to the London Stadium last summer (Fiorentina News) but eventually signed Kurt Zouma instead.

We believe that Milenkovic would be a hugely exciting addition to Moyes’s ranks at West Ham.

The Serb was magnificent for La Viola last season. Described as an ‘extraordinary defender’ by x-sport news, Milenkovic is a truly elite centre-back.

In 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last term, the 24-year-old averaged 1.6 tackles, 1.1 interceptions and 2.7 clearances per match. He also won an average of 2.9 aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

Milenkovic is very comfortable with the ball at his feet as well. During his 34 league outings last season, he made 61.5 passes on average per game and recorded an incredibly impressive completion rate of 89.6% (Who Scored).

The Serbian could be available for around £13 million according to Italian website Calciomercato.it.

That would represent incredible value for the Hammers in my book.

The Nayef Aguerd injury is a hammer blow for West Ham. Perhaps the addition fo Nikola Milenkovic would soften that blow though.
