The three points were the most significant, but the numbers 185, 250, and 1,000 are all notable for Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Kane following a 1-0 win over Wolves.

If you were to answer that Harry Kane scored the first goal in the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, you would be wrong; that was Heung-min Son. However, when it comes to other goal-scoring monuments at Tottenham Hotspur, Kane is likely the correct answer, adding another significant goal on Saturday afternoon in a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton.

Kane reaches a significant milestone for Tottenham in the Premier League

It was a significant moment when Kane lost Nathan Collins at the back post, securing all three points for Tottenham with a goal. Yes, the three points are most important in terms of this season and Spurs excellent start of 7 points from their first three matches. However, the goal was also significant in the annals of Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League.

Kane Top Four in the Premier League

With the goal, Kane broke his tie with Argentine Sergio Aguero, moving into sole possession of fourth place in the list of all-time Premier League goalscorers. Likely, Kane will not stay in fourth place for very long, however.

Andrew Cole is currently third on the list at 187 goals, just two in front of our talisman. Kane will likely overtake Cole as well, probably before the first international break.

After overtaking Cole, Kane will have some work to do as Wayne Rooney is 21 goals in front of Cole at 208, and Alan Shearer is well beyond them all with his 260 Premiership goals. It seems Shearer is safe for now; whether or not Rooney will be at the end of the season is a different story.

Kane has the most Premier League goals for one club

Kane would have lost his shot at one record if he had moved to Manchester City last season is now in his possession. Instead,  Kane is topping the Premier League with the most goals for one club, passing former leader Aguero.

As a Spurs fan, that record is particularly important after it looked sure Kane would leave last summer. I know I’m glad he did not, and presumably so is Antonio Conte, who would probably not even be at Tottenham had Kane left for the Etihad to replace Aguero.

Kane’s goal was his 250th for Tottenham, and Greaves is not far

With the goal, Kane took his all-time Spurs scoring record to the massive number of 250. Easily in sole possession of second place ahead of Bobby Smith, Kane is creeping closer and closer to Jimmy Greaves’s magic number of 266, which suddenly seems very much in Kane’s sights.

Of course, Greaves’s 220 league goals and 37 cup goals, along with several trophies, are things Kane still has in front of him as well.

The goal was the 1,000 at home in the Premier League for Tottenham

Not as significant and certainly lost in the fanfare of Kane’s accomplishments, and the big three points were another important number for Tottenham Hotspur.

The goal was the 1,000th scored by Spurs at home in the Premier League era. Indeed not as monumental or memorable as 250 or 185, but a significant milestone for the club, becoming the fifth team to do so, behind Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
