Our first three games after the World Cup break are against Arsenal, Brentford and Leeds. If Moyes gets enough points from those games to keep his job, he will then be looking to strengthen his squad in the January window…
Exciting West Ham striker claim
Moyes is after at least one new striker this summer, and perhaps maybe even two according to Sun journalist Jack Rosser.
The Scot signed Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo in the summer transfer window.
The Italian hasn’t quite shown us his best stuff yet though. I believe because Moyes isn’t setting up his team to get the best out of Scamacca, but that’s a debate for another day.
Meanwhile, Michail Antonio appears to have regressed badly over the past six months or so.
The 32-year-old has definitely lost his explosive pace and he doesn’t seem to be anywhere near as hungry as he once was.
The addition of at least one new striker in the January transfer window would be a huge boost for everyone involved with West Ham.
Quite who the new strikers could be remains to be seen.
Moyes has been heavily linked with a move to sign Villarreal-owned forward Boulaye Dia.
Meanwhile, links with Sevilla hitman Yourself En-Nesyri are refusing to go away.
With the exciting West Ham striker claim being made by Jack Rosser, we can all expect a busy January transfer window. Let’s just hope that the board are prepared to back Moyes again after his huge summer spend in the transfer market.
