Euro giants PSG have offered West Ham hope over the £43m striker David Moyes wants by refusing to pay Gianluca Scamacca’s asking price.
Chelsea striker Armando Broja is said to be West Ham’s prime target this summer.
But that move is far from a sure thing, so West Ham boss Moyes undoubtedly needs another option.

And links to Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca are not going away.
West Ham are said to have spoken to Sassuolo about signing Scamacca according to a report from 90min last week.
“Among those (strikers) the club are interested in are Sassuolo duo Raspadori and Scamacca, who are both taking on a more important role in Italy’s national team under Roberto Mancini,” 90min reports.
It has been widely reported that Sassuolo will cash in on Scamacca this summer. Bids were expected from some top clubs including PSG, Inter Milan, Milan and Juventus.
A report from Football Italia last week claimed those so-called elite clubs may have had a change of heart over Scamacca following a period of ‘radio silence’.
And it relates to the fee Sassuolo allegedly want for the forward, who scored 16 goals last season.
But the Football Italia report claimed West Ham are ‘not concerned’ by the price tag and that Moyes still wants the Italian.
Now Euro giants PSG have offered West Ham hope over the £43m striker Moyes wants by refusing to pay the Scamacca asking price.
When PSG were mentioned as serious rivals to West Ham for Scamacca it seemed inevitable the French side would win the race.
But according to Get Italian Football News sources, PSG are yet to reach an agreement with Sassuolo as they are refusing to meet the £43m valuation.
“According to sources contacted by Get Italian Football News recently, PSG are yet to strike an agreement for the striker but talks between the two parties have been held already,” GIFN reports.
“Currently, Sassuolo want a fee of €50 million (£43m) but PSG’s valuation has not gone beyond the fee of €35 million (£30m) and a deal is not done yet at all due to the gap in demand and supply.”
If – as Football Italia stated last week – West Ham really are not concerned about paying that kind of fee for Scamacca then Moyes must pounce.
The striker surely knows he will barely get a game for the Ligue 1 champions with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar ahead of him.
At West Ham he would be the club’s main striker, living in London and has all the attributes to be a Premier League hit.
If you don’t ask, you don’t get and PSG have left an opening here that West Ham must try to exploit.
