Erik ten Hag views Marcus Rashford as integral to his plans – and wants to extend his contract.

Manchester United Football Club picked up a big victory upon the return of the Premier League yesterday, as Erik ten Hag’s men continue to improve.

In amongst the goals again was Marcus Rashford. The Englishman has been in top form under this new regime, proving his worth for both club and country.

We’re now looking at one of the best players in the country again. It just goes to show what a bit of confidence can do I guess.

Well, according to Fabrizio Romano, United will meet with Rashford’s agents soon in an attempt to tie the Englishman down to a new long-term contract.

Apparently, Ten Hag is ‘obsessed’ with the player, whom his views as a ‘key part’ of the project. It’s quite clear to see why that’s the case when you watch Rashford in full flight.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s tweet on the news here:

After his own struggles last season, it’s just so good watching Rashford playing at this high level. So many had started to doubt the #10. It was clear that the talent was still in there. We’re now seeing that on full display again.

With Rashford heavily linked with a move to PSG last summer, I’d imagine that’s still a real possibility for United’s poster boy. It’ll be tough to convince him to remain in Manchester without trophies in the bank – so winning some silverware this time around is an absolute must.

In an ideal world, Rashy commits his future to the club he supported as a boy very soon. We’re going to need him.
