Man United fans have been given some information on when they can expect an official Erik ten Hag announcement.
Ralf Rangnick has steadied the ship. The German hasn’t been afraid to try and knock those players with big egos down a peg or two – be it benching those stars, or even letting them depart on loan.
The former RB Leipzig man has no doubt had his say on who should be the next manager, with Erik ten Hag now looking extremely likely to be appointed the eRed Devils’ new permanent boss.
Shortly after that, journalist Jason Burt, while writing for The Telegraph, has explained when an Erik ten Hag to Man United announcement could be expected…
“It is then hoped that an announcement will be made towards the end of next week with Ten Hag having now entered into discussing the details over his contract at United.” Burt said, as quoted by Stretty News.
Suddenly, things are moving pretty quickly on this front. After all, United would love to get their new man in place as soon as possible, meaning he can have a big say on what players are signed over the summer.
Ten Hag, aged 52, has worked wonders for Ajax but he’s ready to take that next step in his career. Jobs do not come much bigger than a move to Old Trafford, even despite the fact there’s a very good chance we have no Champions League football on offer next season.
The idea that United could officially unveil Ten Hag as their new manager from the summer within a week leads me to believe that United are now beginning to operate in a smoother, more efficient manner. That’s exactly what we need to be doing if we want to compete with the likes of City and Liverpool.
No doubt Mauricio Pochettino was the number one choice for some, but this option felt like a safe one. Ten Hag is high risk, high reward. He will need time to settle in and build his squad, but the potential is there for us to go right the way to the top under his tutelage.
