The agent of Denzel Dumfries has apparently flown into England to hold transfer talks with Premier League sides, including Man United.

Manchester United Football Club are adapting their playing personnel under Erik ten Hag, that much has been pretty obvious.

This squad isn’t completely perfect for his style of play, though it was always going to take multiple transfer windows to fix all the issues.

Right-back was identified as a potential weakness, even dating back to the summer. The gaffer wasn’t completely sold on Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He even floated the idea of selling the Englishman.

Diogo Dalot has done a good job for the most part, though injuries have struck recently. Wan-Bissaka has filled in and again, been decent. It still feels like a position where United can upgrade.

Denzel Dumfries’ name has been floated in the same breath as a United move many–a-time over the years. Well, we’re back here again…

It’s Calciomercato with the claim, with the translation coming via Sport Witness. They claim that Dumfries’ agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has flown to England to hold transfer talks with United, among other Premier League clubs. Newcastle United and Chelsea both get a mention.

It’s stressed that a move over the next few days looks unlikely, with this deal having more of a summer feel to it.

Again, Wan-Bissaka doesn’t feel like the right stylistic fit, while Dalot also has a contract that’s winding down. Is Ten Hag completely sold by the pair?

Couple that with a tendency to bring in Dutchmen (Tyrell Malacia, Wout Weghorst) and this move feels like it has serious credence to it.

The question then becomes is Dumfries the right fit? He certainly has his doubters out there in the footballing world. Ten Hag is yet to let us down, though, we have to continue to trust him.
