The Cristiano Ronaldo antics for Manchester United last night prove just how lucky West Ham are with the players we have in our squad.

Cristiano Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United from Juventus last summer, but things haven’t quite worked out how he would have expected.

The 37-year-old superstar is not a regular starter anymore under Man United boss Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo is clearly not happy with the situation…who would be? The thing is though, he still has the obligation to be completely professional at all times.

That certainly wasn’t the case at Old Trafford last night…

The 37-year-old Man United forward warmed the bench all night during his side’s 2-0 win over Tottenham.

The Portuguese star obviously wanted to get in on the act, but the call never came from Te Hag.

When it was clear to him that he wasn’t going to be brought on, he headed up the tunnel before the final whistle:

If you are a Manchester United fan, you must be seething by Ronaldo’s behaviour last night. Who does he actually think he is?

Whatever happened to the saying ‘there is no I in team’?

It got me thinking that we really are very lucky at West Ham with the current crop of players that we have.

The likes of Said Benrahma and Manuel Lanzini often get overlooked by David Moyes, yet their behaviour has been nothing but professional.

The same can be said of Alphonse Areola, Maxwel Cornet and Gianluca Scamacca.

There is a proper bond amongst the West Ham players and the fans.

That’s because each and every player understands that they are not bigger than the club.

The same cannot be said for Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.

The 37-year-old clearly doesn’t want to be at Old Trafford and the sooner that he is allowed to leave the better for him and Manchester United.

Manchester United might have had great success throughout the years but as things stand, it seems as though they have an untenable situation on their hands with Cristiano Ronaldo.

And West Ham fans should be grateful that we don’t have any players at the club who would act up in the manner that Ronaldo did last night.
