Antonio Conte has just taken a real liberty with outcast Djed Spence and West Ham boss David Moyes must end his Spurs misery.
The resumption of the Premier League is just over a week away and the opening of the transfer window is not far behind it.
The transfer rumour mill is whirring into action and both West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur are already sharing plenty of column inches.
West Ham and bitter rivals Tottenham were linked with mutual interest in a number of players in the summer from Yves Bissouma and Nikola Milenkovic to Filip Kostic and Djed Spence.

Two of them ended up at Spurs but the latter will undoubtedly be wishing he’d pushed for a move to West Ham instead.
One area that was a priority to strengthen for both Conte and Moyes in the summer was at right-back.
Spurs beat West Ham to the signing of reported Moyes target Spence and the Hammers never solved the issue, ending up having to move Thilo Kehrer there recently with mixed results.
But Spence’s move has been nothing short of a disaster.
The 22-year-old lit up the Championship with Forest last season and was being courted by multiple clubs, including West Ham.
He opted to join Spurs but Conte admitted it was not his decision to sign the swashbuckling right-back (Daily Mail). And it has showed. Spence has played just one minute for Tottenham in the Premier League this season.
Spurs are said to be open to letting Spence leave in January (The Times, Dean Jones).
Now Conte has taken a real liberty with outcast Spence and West Ham boss Moyes must end his Spurs misery.
Spence is already behind Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal in the pecking order at right-back.
And during Tottenham’s friendly win over a youthful Peterborough side this week, Spence was shunted over to the left to accommodate Doherty.
While there is nothing massively unusual nowadays with full-backs and wingers switching flanks, this is a big reminder to Spence that he has no future at Spurs in his favoured – and best – position.
Given Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon are Tottenham’s first choice left-backs, it puts Spence way down the order for either side.
Moyes must solve the right-back problem at West Ham in January. Vladimir Coufal and Ben Johnson have failed to meet the required standards and the Kehrer experiment has not worked.
West Ham need proper, modern, pacy, young fullbacks who can get forward and contribute to the attack.
Spence is exactly that and just needs to be given a chance under a manager who trusts and believes in him.
Moyes clearly ticks that box as he chased him in the summer.
