Christian Eriksen continued his club form over to international duty, putting in a top display vs France.

Manchester United Football Club knew they were getting a top pro when Christian Eriksen agreed to make the move – but I think I speak for everyone when I say we never thought he’d be this good.

Aside from that Brentford away horror show, Eriksen has been an absolute breath of fresh air. The Dane brings a genuine calmness to a midfield area that was often so panicked and rushed last season.

Aged 30, Eriksen has used all his experience to turn this midfield into one that compete with the best sides in the business. It has been an absolute joy to watch him play.

The midfielder has now carried that form over to the international break, too. He absolutely bossed it vs France yesterday, during Denmark’s 2-0 victory.

Eriksen completed 100% of his dribbles, played eight key passes and saw 80 touches of the football, meaning he was at the heart of everything good. Thanks to @StatmanDave for the information.

I don’t like slighting former players, but Eriksen feels like a direct upgrade on Paul Pogba. Yes, it’s early days but United just play far better with the Dane in their midfield.

It’s the little things. The keeping it simple, the quick passing, the footballing intelligence. Eriksen may not always show up on the stat sheet, but he absolutely makes everyone around him better. He’s also the consummate professional. No flashiness or media headlines. Just pure footballing quality.

It’s also super to see him playing so well for his country. Hopefully, he comes back feeling fit as we’re absolutely going to need him for the Manchester derby this weekend.
