Chris Sutton has made his Liverpool vs West Ham prediction, and backed Gianluca Scamacca to score at Anfield tomorrow night.

The Hammers travel to Merseyside to take on the Reds in a hugely important game for both teams.

Tomorrow night may be one of the best chances that West Ham will ever have of beating Liverpool at Anfield, with many key players allegedly out for Jurgen Klopp’s side, including the likes of Luis Diaz, Joel Matip and Digo Jota.

Chris Sutton has made a Liverpool vs West Ham prediction that suggests otherwise, however.

The Hammers have won two and drawn one of our three Premier League games since returning from the international break.

Meanwhile, Liverpool had been in really poor form up until their tremendous win over Manchester City on Sunday. So perhaps the tide is starting to turn for Jurgen Klopp and his players.

One thing’s for sure, Liverpool is never an easy game, and we have always struggled playing against them away from home.

But which way will the pendulum swing tomorrow night at Anfield?

The Hammers will be desperate to pick up some kind of positive result, even if it’s a hard fought point.

At the same time, only a win will do for the Reds.

Chris Sutton believes that it will be a comfortable home win for Liverpool, although he did back Gianluca Scamacca to continue his goalscoring form for West Ham, when writing his column for BBC Sport:

I have taken a lot of flak from Liverpool fans recently. I love it when supporters come out afterwards, like they did after beating Manchester City, and are wise after the event, but then basically admit that, beforehand, they were feeling along the same lines as my prediction. Still, you couldn’t fail to be impressed with the way Liverpool played against City, especially the back-line who were excellent. There was a period in the second half where the crowd really got up and backed them and Anfield was bouncing again. I think they will continue in the right direction here, helped by the fact West Ham are so stretched at the back, although I do fancy Gianluca Scamacca to grab a goal for the Hammers.

Chris Sutton’s prediction: 3-1

In fairness, that’s a solid prediction from Sutton, and even the most ardent of West Ham fans won’t be expecting much against Liverpool.

And it’s for that reason that I feel as though we should really try and take the game to the Reds. If we lose, we lose. At least we’ll be able to say that we had a go.

The Chris Sutton prediction for Liverpool vs West Ham is probably one that the majority of people will go along with.

Hopefully David Moyes has a surprise up his sleeve to stun Liverpool on their home turf though. Anything is possible in football so let’s keep the faith!
