Chelsea willing to do deal for 25-year-old in January in big blow for West Ham

Chelsea are willing to do a deal for West Ham transfer target Marcus Thuram now, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 25-year-old forward will be available on a free transfer in the summer, but he can be signed in January for around £10 million (talkSPORT), if any club is willing to pay Borussia Monchengladbach their asking price.

That’s unfortunate news for West Ham, with David Moyes keen to bring him to the London Stadium.

Moyes desperately needs to bolster his attacking ranks in the January transfer window.

Chelsea boss Graham Potter is in the same boat, and it seems as though he’s ready to address the attacking deficiencies at Stamford Bridge in the January window…

Chelsea willing to do a deal for Marcus Thuram now

Fabrizio Romano has suggested that the Blues are ready to move for the France World Cup star now, rather than wait until the summer to sign him on a free transfer:

They’re waiting for Borussia to make a price. There are really many clubs interested in Thuram as free agent, from Inter to Aston Villa; but Chelsea would do the deal now, depending on the conditions.

Whichever club wins the race for the Gladbach ace’s signature will be getting a seriously good player on their hands for an unbelievable bargain price.

The 25-year-old has been described as a ‘sensational’ player by scouting, statistics and analytical website Total Football Analysis.

Meanwhile, Get Football News Germany describe him as a ‘world-class’ striker – quite the compliment!

Thuram possesses blistering pace and can play anywhere along the front-line. He has bagged 13 goals and four assists in 17 games for Gladbach so far this season (Transfermarkt).

The four-capped France international is a really explosive striker, and is a constant menace for opposing defenders.

With Chelsea willing to do a deal for Marcus Thuram now, West Ham will surely miss out on the Frenchman. And that will very much be the Blues’ gain and our loss.
