Checkmate: £30m West Ham ace Said Benrahma leaves David Moyes nowhere to hide

West Ham United ace Said Benrahma has just made everything so obvious for beleaguered Hammers boss David Moyes.

Since Benrahma, 27, joined the Hammers for £30 million from Brentford (Athletic), he has been unfairly made a scapegoat by Moyes on more occasions than I care to remember.

The Scot has berated Benny time and time again, when others in the team have deserved criticism much more than the Algerian.

The Algerian has never been given license to show what he’s truly capable of under David Moyes though.

Benrahma and Moyes certainly haven’t been a match made in heaven, that’s for sure.

Unfortunately for Moyes though, the ex-Brentford ace has just made it very clear to him that he cannot be dropped anymore…

Said Benrahma sends clear message to David Moyes

The 27-year-old scored an absolute rocket for the Hammers against Brentford in the FA Cup third round this evening.

Yet Benrahma didn’t start the game – he had to make do with a second-half substitute appearance, for the third time in a row.

It really is baffling isn’t it. The Algerian is our most creative and direct player inside the final third – that’s a fact.

West Ham have been absolutely atrocious going forward this season. Only three clubs have scored less goals than us in the Premier League this season.

We have lacked any kind of potency and our attack in general hasn’t had much energy, pace or dynamism. And in spite of all of that, Moyes has left Benny on the bench for our last three games.

It’s just crazy.

Benrahma makes us so much more threatening when he’s on the pitch, and he proved just how deadly he can be once again tonight.

He has six goals and two assists to his name in 25 games so far this season (Transfermarkt), and he has only averaged 54 minutes per game.

David Moyes needs to start playing Benrahma in every single game now from the start. If he doesn’t it will be clear and obvious to see that he has a problem with the Algerian that transcends his footballing ability.
