Chance for Tottenham Hotspur to reignite their interest in Juventus ace Paulo Dybala

According to Sport Mediaset (h/t Express), talks between Paulo Dybala and Juventus seem to have hit a standstill, which creates a chance for Tottenham Hotspur to reignite their interest in the player. The North Londoners were close to signing Dybala in 2019 but his image rights seem to have spoiled that prospect.

His contract with the Turin-based club is set to expire at the end of the season and it seems unlikely that the 28-year-old will sign an extension with the Italian club. The former Palermo player has started to find his feet at the Allianz Stadium once again.

The Argentine international has now scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 28 matches across all competitions for Bianconeri this campaign. Dybala is highly effective as a second striker and is majorly deployed in that position.

However the 28-year-old can also be used as an attacking midfielder as well as a winger whenever required. This kind of versatility can be a great asset for any club and a pivotal supplement to the attacking department at the Lilywhites.

Another attacker at Hotspur Way

Antonio Conte has tried to instil his brand of attacking football with the North Londoners. While he has been successful to a great deal, there is still a lot of room for improvement if Spurs are to seriously challenge for titles once again.

January signing Dejan Kulusevski has already hit the ground running and Harry Kane has started to rediscover his lethal form in goal once again. These are all positive signs for the club and the acquisition of the Argentine international could help take our game to the next level.

Fabio Paratici has had a working relationship with Paulo Dybala and that could be a plus point should our interest in the player ever become real. According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Liverpool Echo) earlier this month, Spurs are among three PL clubs monitoring his situation.

The 49-year-old managing director of football is thought to have a great network in Serie A courtesy of working as the Chief Footballing Officer at Juventus for several years.

In light of current developments, the 28-year-old Argentine attacker could become a free agent before the start of the next season. While that may seem advantageous, many clubs could be looking for such an opening to sign the player in lieu of his impressive performances and versatility.

The Lilwyhites had a relatively quiet transfer window in January with Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur being the only incomings. Spurs could therefore look to make a splash and add some talented players to the roster before the start of the next season.

Dybala seems like an ideal fit and the lure of working under Conte could go in our favour. That being said, only time can tell whether or not we can lure the Argentine international to N-17.
