A primary target has emerged, again, in the form of Dusan Vlahovic, the Serbian striker currently plying his trade at Juventus that Arsenal tried to sign before he moved to Turin in January 2022.
Dusan Vlahovic, who previously made his mark at Fiorentina, moved to Juventus amidst high expectations and a lot of interest from Arsenal.
However, his performances at the Turin club hasn’t been consistent with the reputation that preceded his arrival.
While he was regarded as one of the best centre-forwards globally, his recent form has somewhat diminished that shine.
Despite Juventus investing a considerable €80m in acquiring him, the striker’s future at the Juventus Stadium remains shrouded in uncertainty, given recent speculations about his potential departure after 25 goals, and seven assists, in 66 games.
Arsenal’s interest in Vlahovic is strategic and lengthy.
As they aim to bolster their frontline, the 23-year-old Serbian striker seems to fit the mould of the dynamic forward that the North London club desires.
Although the Premier League outfit acknowledges Vlahovic’s evident talent, they reportedly remain wary of the price tag.
With the winter market set to open on January 1, it’s believed that they’re unlikely to match the initial €80m Juventus paid for him. He is currently valued at €70m with three years left on his current contract.
If such a move materialises, it would be one of the standout transfers of the winter market.
