Arsenal are now lining up a move to sign PSV Eindhoven ace Cody Gakpo in what is a boost for West Ham United.

That’s according to football journalist Dean Jones who has told Inside Futbol that Arsenal are now favourites to sign the Dutch forward.

That will come as a welcome boost for West Ham, with the Gunners believed to be interested in signing Jarrod Bowen this summer (CBS journalist Ben Jacobs).

Bowen is valued at around £70 million by West Ham according to club insiders Claret and Hugh. That would have been an awful lot of money for Arsenal to spend on the 25-year-old, but it was still a worry knowing that the north London outfit might attempt to sign the hard-working attacker.

So with that in mind, there is some good news for the Hammers fans today…

Arsenal eyeing Cody Gakpo swoop

Dean Jones who has told Inside Futbol that the Gunners are favourites to sign the 23-year-old PSV ace this summer.

Gakpo has been described as a ‘sensational’ player by well-renowned Twitter account Dutch Football.

If West Ham manager Mikel Arteta does manage to bring the £37 million rated forward (Fabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside) to The Emirates, he surely won’t try to sign Bowen as well.

And that’s great news for West Ham.

Bowen will be a key figure for the Hammers moving forward and is one of the two most important players David Moyes has at his disposal at the London Stadium, alongside Declan Rice of course.

If West Ham are to make any significant progress over the next few years, keeping Jarrod at the club will be pivotal for Moyes.

The threat of losing players like Bowen and Rice to the Premier League’s biggest clubs is a constant worry for the Hammers fans.

If Arsenal sign Cody Gakpo though, that will surely mean that there is one less thing for us to be concerned about.

And that can only be a good thing for West Ham.
