England confirmed their international call-ups on Thursday, ahead of the March international break, and four Arsenal players made the list.

Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale were safe bets, but it was good to see Ben White returning to the squad as well, and Emile Smith Rowe remaining in the squad after his goal and assist against San Marino in November.

That’s the majority of Arsenal’s senior English players. Rob Holding and Eddie Nketiah miss out, but it never seemed particularly likely either of them would be involved.

Loanee Ainsley Maitland-Niles is probably the most disappointed, given he’s been involved with the England first team under Southgate before. But he’s just not winning a spot on his loan spell right now.

Manchester City are the only other club to have four players in the England squad, with John Stones, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, and Raheem Sterling all featuring.

Chelsea technically have three if you include loanee Conor Gallagher, but no other club has more than two.

Arsenal’s starting lineup is now full of internationals, with Alexandre Lacazette the only member of the first-choice side not to be active with his national side – and we know that’s about more than just football in his case.

With the World Cup coming up later this year, this is an opportunity for all of those Arsenal internationals to make their mark.

England face Switzerland on March 26th at 17:30 GMT and the Ivory Coast on March 29th at 19:45 GMT.
