90min report that their sources have confirmed Arsenal technical director Edu believes new deals for Bukayo Saka, William Saliba, and Gabriel Martinelli are all on track, with the club hopeful that all three will be done by January.

Saka and Saliba have deals lasting until 2024, as does Martinelli, though Martinelli’s contains an option to extend further.

All the same, it seems like a good time to renew the Brazilian’s contract, with things going well for both the individual and his club.

Saka recently told the media he shares Mikel Arteta’s confidence that a new deal would be agreed, after Arteta had said: “I’m very confident that we as a club, Bukayo and his family and his agent are very much aligned on what we want to achieve.

“I would like that to get done because I don’t want the player or anybody distracted in the middle of the season, but those things take time and have to go through the right process.”

There’s been plenty of talk about Saliba’s contract since his return from loan, with Arteta successfully reintegrating the centre-back into his side. That was seemingly the most important factor from Arsenal’s end, with Saliba keen to play regularly ahead of the World Cup.

There have been various claims on social media that Saliba has already agreed a new deal, but those appear to be wide of the mark. The lack of an announcement from Arsenal, or a more reliable outlet reporting the news, makes it seem like there’s still work to do on that contract too.

All we can do is wait, at this stage. If Edu and Arsenal really are confident about the possibility of extensions, we should get some updates before long.
