Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga made his first appearance for Luton Town on Saturday, making the starting lineup as they took on Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Arsenal man played 74 minutes of the 1-0 defeat, and he spoke to the Luton Town social media pages after the game.
“I think it was not a bad one,” Lokonga said. “I think we were close to score some goals but unfortunately we don’t have the three points so we need to work on that!
“We need to stick together and keep working in the way we are working.
“I think I liked it (playing alongside Marvelous Nakamba), I think it was very good. I think I had a nice relationship with Marv. We need to build on that.”
“[I’ve settled in] very well,” Lokonga added. “It was close to my house, so it was easier for me to do the journey.
“I’ve met some good people over here, willing to improve, willing to improve the club, with nice facilities, nice pitches. So I think it’s small details that help you to settle down.”
Lokonga joined Luton Town on loan at the end of the summer transfer window, after a long time without a competitive game.
The midfielder had been on loan with Crystal Palace in 2022/23, but after he came off early in a game against Wolves on April 25th, he didn’t play another minute for the Eagles.
Lokonga returned to Arsenal for pre-season, but an early injury ruled him out of the tour, and he struggled to break back into the squad on his return to fitness.
Then came the loan move to Luton Town, which was only officially confirmed after their deadline-day game against West Ham United.
