Earlier this week, the Premier League confirmed that Patrick Vieira had been inducted into the PL Hall of Fame, joining 2021 inductees Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp, among others (full list at the bottom of this article).
Vieira took to Twitter to respond to the news, saying: “I was very honoured and proud when I heard that I am being inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
“Playing in the Premier League was a true privilege. I really enjoyed that part of my career, and I would like to thank all my teammates who helped make it so special.”
It’s no surprise we’ve now seen three of the ‘invincibles’ inducted into the Hall of Fame, and we’ll probably see a few more in the coming years.
That side was one of the best in the league’s history, achieving something that remains unique to this day, and it’s only right they get recognition for it.
Vieira did briefly return to the Premier League with Manchester City from 2009 to 2011, but he’ll mostly be remembered for his time with Arsenal.
The midfielder joined the Gunners in 1996 and made 279 Premier League appearances with them, winning three league titles before leaving for Juventus in 2005. Congratulations to him for making the latest list of inductees!
