Man United defender, Alex Telles, will have an MRI scan after pain in the knee following a clash.

Alex Telles, remember him? The Brazil international endured a mixed spell at Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick. He’s technically still a Red Devil – though currently away on loan with Sevilla.

The ex-Porto man is still a fully-fledged Brazil international. He’s currently away with his country at the World Cup, starting last night’s final group game against Cameroon.

However, Telles only lasted around 50 minutes, being forced off after a clack with Franck Zambo Anguissa. The Brazilian came worse off, hobbling off the field with what looked like a knee problem.

Now, it is possible that his World Cup could be over, with the United star set to have an MRI scan today, per the Brazil team doctor.

Check out what the Brazil team doctor had to say in full:

“Today we had two medical problems,” MSN report him saying.

“Alex Telles left the game complaining of pain in his right knee after a trauma, he has been assessed in the dressing room now and an MRI scan will be performed tomorrow to assess a little better.

“After these tests we will give more details.”

Telles’ time at United hasn’t been great minus a few decent performances here and there. The fact that he has been loaned out and replaced with Tyrell Malacia pretty much tells you all you need to know.

That said, he’s still an asset for his country. This would be a blow for their manager Tite, although Telles isn’t a regular starter at this point.

With only a couple of weeks between now and the World Cup final, Telles genuinely is in a race against time to get himself fit (should Brazil make it that far). Knee injuries aren’t to be messed with, they’re amongst the most serious within the game. Fingers crossed this isn’t anything too major and instead, it’s just an impact injury that won’t be too sore in a few days.
